The ones who are living in the north hemisphere, we are facing with the cold and harsh days of the winter. Summer is far away for us. That let’s talk about something that could warm up us inside. Let’s talk about hot summer days plans when you will be spending you days under the glittery sun.
You spent your holidays at hotels for years and you want to change this by going a vacation on boat, which is known as a Blue Cruise. But, how a boat is rented? How much it costs? How long the Blue Cruise last? What things you should be careful about when choosing the yacht? Here are your tips for these subjects:
How many people?
There are two ways used to rent a boat. One of them is called renting a cabin. If you are just 2 people and don’t have a chance to rent the whole yacht, you simply rent a cabin and share the boat with the people you don’t know for whole week. I don’t want to go on with details on this subject because we don’t work like this. Of course there are some people who tried this and satisfied at the end but with all my respect I don’t rather this.
The other way is gathering up a group and renting the yacht with them. With this way called as closed group the yacht is all yours and you may rent boats ranging from 2 cabins to 12 cabins. There are lots of different yacht alternatives for 4 to 24 guests. MG Yachting recommends you this way of renting a yacht.
Budget?
The second basic factor to arrive a decision about what kind of a boat to rent is budget. Let’s assume that your are going to rent a car. And there are two options. One is luxurious class and the other is moderate one. At the end both of them have 5 people capacity but the prices are very different. Which is why, the luxurious one is well equipped and offers more comfort. The same thing is valid for boat renting.
That’s why the yachts serving as Blue Cruise are divided into categories like cars according to their comfort, equipments and service quality. Classified as VIP, Deluxe and Luxe, the yachts serve different qualities for different budgets.
The yachts belong to Luxe category mainly have 8 cabins and ideal for crowded groups. In these yachts there are 4-5 crews which include captain, cook, serviceman and sailor(s). The rent for this kind of yacht varies according to months but it’s usually would be 1000/1500 Euro on daily basis. This amount would seen much but don’t forget you will split it to 16.
Deluxe boats are in upper class and have 5-6 cabins. In these boats that comfort and service quality are seen as the main priority, the service is done by stewardesses. And you can do various sea sports with the equipments on the boat. The daily rent of deluxe boats is approximatively between 2000/3000 Euros.
The boats that are listed in the VIP category are full of comfort and high service standard that can fulfill every need of the customer. The daily rent of a VIP boat is approximatively between 3500-8000 Euros.
DON’T FORGET. It is the crew that makes a boat, boat. Boat can be excellent but with bad crew you holiday would turn into a disaster. On the contrary, the boat would not be excellent but with its professional crew, you can experience the perfect holiday. That’s why when you are choosing your yacht; you should consider the crew as well as the comfort and the equipments. In this point I advise you get a professional help.
As you can see the number of people and budget are the two main subjects when renting a yacht. Let’s say that you have come to a final decision on these subjects and have a look at the other details.
Which Routes?
You determined a yacht and decided to rent it but where you should travel?
For Turkey, there are 4 main territories for blue cruise.
These are: Gokova bay, Hisaronu bay, Gocek and Kalkan-Kas-Kekova routes.
Even though there are some routes which contain only the Greek Islands, it is always possible to come up with a route which includes both Turkey and Greek Islands.
If you are looking for bays surrounded with pine trees, the south of the Gokova bay, Hisaronu and Göcek which are among the 4 main routes, would be perfect for you.
But if you are looking for lots of fun and entertainment with the blue cruise, Bodrum has an international fame for this. Also nowadays Marmaris is catching up with the Bodrum with its bars street at the town center.
Or if you just want to relax in a quiet bay, i should recommend you to choose Göcek or Hisaronu for you blue cruise.
Date:
Blue Cruise is mostly lasts for seven days. Tours starts at Saturdays and ends the following Saturday. Of course there are some exceptions but it is better if you plan your blue cruise for Saturday-Saturday.
Which month is more joyful?
In this case the choice is always arguable. July and August is the most popular months. And of course more crowded ones. If you ask whether July or August is more crowded, Italians have a special habit on their own. Almost whole country goes on a vacation on August, so yes August is more crowded than July.
If you are to go on a vacation on August; you should know that Gokova is a little windy at that time of the year. Hisaronu is more protected that Gokova but for the ones who concern about if the boat would lurch too much Göcek is the right place.
If you ask my personal choice the best times of the Aegean territory is late September, early October. But unfortunately schools are a huge obstacle at these times.
And I should also mention that Cyclades Islands which are located in the middle Aegean are stormy throughout the August.
Ps: As July and August are the most popular months, they are the most expensive ones. You should also consider that you can rent a boat at June or September for better prices, too.
How the food and beverages should be organized?
Food and beverages are generally not included to the rent price. Even though there are standard menus on the yachts, demanded menus should be chosen according to the eating habits and different requests of the guests.
When should the payment be made?
After deciding the date and the yacht you have to make a prepayment to confirm your reservation. The amount is about the %25 of the renting payment. After signing the contract and making a prepayment the boat is all yours for the determined dates. The rest of the payment is acquired just before or at time you arrive to the boat.
